Recently I have been discouraged by the lack of support from parents. I believe Christian education works best when we as educators partner with the home and family. I have seen several students grow in spite of the lack of support. Strange that parents would enroll them in a Christian school but then not support the mission of that same school.

The classroom climate has changed in the last few years. It seems that educators have their work cut out for them.

Ii have had a couple students decline throughout the years. At times I have felt as though I had failed but then was reminded that I loved and led. The seeds had been planted but God is the one that bring the increase. As I wait for the lives of those students to change I continue to surrender them to the Lord.

At the beginning of the school year its always hard to see if the student will improve and you usually can tell by the middle of the year if they are going to move on to the next grade. I have been tutoring a student that I thought was going to repeat the grade and he has made such a huge improvement over this summer.

I have a student whom I have worked with for the past two years, and at the beginning of last school year, I was discouraged to see that he was struggling again with some of the things we addressed the previous year. After several months, he was able to find a good daily rhythm and was able to respond better to certain situations. He even began to say “I love you” in return when I told it to him. He is one who makes gradual, slow progress, and I have hope that he will continue to learn better ways to process disappointments and frustrations.
