At the heart of discipline should be restoration.

A lot of times I ask students how their actions did or did not fit into God’s expectations for them.

I also point out that they need to seek God’s help in correcting their behavior that is not honoring to Him.

We have discipline policies set in place at our school that allow us not only to address the behavior, but also walk along side of the students that are struggling. Our school first will talk one on one with students and discuss alternative behavior and reteach positive behavior. We recognize the sin nature and go to the Word of God to reteach.

I think that my school models discipline in a good way in that we want students to recognize sin and also the grace God gives us. Students meet with administration based on reports teachers file so that un-Christlike behavior can be addressed as see that they are reconciled with the party they acted against.

I teach online courses to homeschool students. Last year our organization wrote a Family Handbook that both the parent and the student are required to read. One policy is that a parent must proctor all assessments. We have a statement on each assessment that the parent and student are required to sign. Another policy is that there is to be no private chatting during course to anyone other than the teacher. Students are not to distract other students from the lesson being taught.

I address bad behavior with the possibility to receive forgiveness if they truly repent.
