I have rules posted in the classroom. I also have a 5 minute rule. If they waste my time then I take 5 minutes off their free time. I talk to them about their behavior and how they could improve. They apologize. If there is a disagreement between the students, I talk to them and they work it out. I also use stickers, prize box and candy jar for rewards.

We have a demerit system that is in place and student consequences very based on the issue or behaviors.

In my classroom, I use:
1) A poor choices warning system that gives children the liberty of two verbal choices before they hit a negative consequence. Students hardly hit a consequence because they buckle up with the first or second warning.
2) A behavior reflection chat: children in negative consequences do not write lines during their “time away from friends” They spend the time chatting with me about what they did wrong and putting a behavior plan to correct the poor choice the next time they have a similar situation. Children love being held accountable for their behavior plans and work hard at following them.

In my classroom, I implement a discipline policy that corrects with love, explaining the cause and effect of actions about biblical promises and consequences. When students misbehave, I guide them to repent and seek forgiveness, just as Scripture teaches. To encourage good behavior, I also offer rewards and incentives, such as special privileges or treats. This approach has been effective in promoting a positive and respectful classroom environment, where students feel loved, valued, and accountable for their actions.

There are classroom rules. One of the policies in my classroom is the entry policy. The students have to wait for the teacher to receive and welcome them into the classroom in an orderly manner.
