We have a demerit system at our school that works very well to hold students accountable for their actions. Points are given based on the severity of the action. We have a cell phone policy as well. No cell phones are allowed, and if they are taken during class by a teacher, a parent has to come pick up the phone. It has really helped to keep the kids focused this year.

In every classroom in my school, there are rules and regulations governing the conduct of students. Students are disciplined in love to demonstrate Christ’s traits in whatever they do. Train up a child in the way he /she go, when he/she grows up, he/she will not depart from it

Our school utilizes restorative classroom management. School and classroom expectations, rules, and consequences are clearly explained and modeled to students. Our class rules are: honor God, respect authority, and be kind to others. All behaviors and actions fall within these. Yes, these policies have been effective.

In my class students don’t make fun of other students’ artwork, if they do that, they are being punished.

Racism and physical violence of any sort are not tolerated and immediately are referred to the office. A lot of other disciplinary issues we try to solve in class with seating changes, re-teaching the expectations, having classwide discussions, or direct teaching on why we don’t say x, y, and z. I try to move on and not hold it against students who act out, and we begin with a clean slate each day.
