My discipline philosophy is to guide with consistency and empathy, focusing on teaching self-regulation. Yes, it nurtures students by promoting respect and personal growth.

I hold high yet attainable standard for my students. I feel as if all discipline is delivered with love and helps redirect the students to also love.

I think that as an administrator my biggest responsibility is to point all our students back to scripture when they find themselves being guided or disciplined.

When disciplining students, I prioritize empathy and understanding. I take them aside for a one-on-one conversation, asking if they’re okay and what’s bothering them. This approach encourages them to open up, and we discuss better ways to handle their feelings together. This method nurtures their emotional growth and helps them develop healthier responses.

It is important to discipline out of love. Never allow a student to feel they do not matter, make them feel they are in a safe place. If a student has misbehaved it is important to listen, allow the student to explain their actions. Never cut them off or jump to conclusions. Teach a child positive ways to react to different situations.
