No I did not give up any spiritual disciplines. My church organized Life stage groups to meet once of a on zoom for prayer and fellowship. This was a tremendous help. There was also 24hr phone prayer that gave me more help and support, as I prayed for others.

My spiritual disciplines became stronger and more mature during the pandemic. I lost my job of 19 years, my god son was killed in a car accident, (their deaths were in days of each other) my brother died on Thanksgiving and I got COVID 19 after attending my brother’s funeral. All of this happened in 2020. Yet through it all I cried, prayed, read God’s word more than ever and journaled. I set aside time in the early mornings for spiritual disciplines.

I gave up spending time in person at church, however, we had services online shortly after Covid lockdown started. Still, the face to face interaction, the shaking hands and even embracing we’re gone and missed. I even gave up the same with famiky and friends, but praise God, that time in isolation gave me muck more time to be with God, without distraction. It was a true growing and maturing spiritually for me.

Our Church actually continued in meeting all through the Pandemic, but we did have the option of watching it live and that became “easy” to watch the preaching in our pajamas. The lack of fellowship was greatly missed. And we now understand the importance of being with others.
