Discuss a teacher who had a positive influence on your life. What did he/she do that was influential for you?

One teacher that had a positive influence on me was my 7th grade English teacher. She was encouraging and supportive, as well as informative. I felt that I could do my best in her class and she would be pleased. She led great discussions and showed interest in her students.

My first grade teacher was very influential in my life. I hated kindergarten and fought to stay home, but once in first grade, with a different teacher who loved me and spoke love into my life, I delighted in going to school. She changed the trajectory of my life.

Mr. Beatty made learning fun, he encouraged me and believed in me. He came to my wedding!

I remember my fourth grade teacher very well. I had skipped third grade and had to make new friends and learn more challenging curriculum. She made sure I had all the support I needed. I also remember she made me feel very seen. She was the one who noticed I needed glasses because I had trouble seeing the whiteboard. Knowing that she was paying attention to things outside of the textbook made me feel cared for.

My eighth grade English teacher Mrs. Long was amazing. It was so obvious she cared about who we were as individuals, not just her students. Her passion for what she was teaching was evident. She made me enjoy learning what she was teaching. She was able to make it fun.
