Discuss a teacher who had a positive influence on your life. What did he/she do that was influential for you?

I had many teachers that had a positive impact on me. I was not the best behaved student, but they cared about me and never gave up on me. I knew they loved me.

My second grade teacher, Mrs Barnett. She cared for us by getting to know us and what our learning style was. She had a lot of hands on learning activities. I use a lot of hands on activities for my teaching.

My grandmother was my teacher at church for Wednesday night classes at church. She had a positive influence on me becasue she taight me with biblical truth and love. She has influenced the kind of teacher that I am today.

Had a coach in college that chewed us pretty hard for not getting the job done. Later in the week he apologized for his actions. In my mind I agreed his chewing was proper and we needed to get better, In my mind I saw him as in the right and didn’t feel he did anything wrong. His apology included he should have approaced the correction in a different manner. I grew to appreciate him all the more, because he apologized for something that he was well within his right to do and in my opinion he did nothing wrong, yet he apologized. He was a great man of God. He did not wrong and was humble.

I have had several teachers who saw the best in me and called it out, even when I could not see it in myself. They did this is a Christlike way, as Christ always calls us to our best selves. They instilled a belief in me that with Christ I could do all things and meet all challenges.
