One teacher I remember specifically…she could see that I was having a hard time, and getting very frustrated. But I wasn’t one to raise my hand or ask for help. She pulled me aside and offered to give me extra help on the side. She didn’t make a big deal of it because she didn’t want me to feel embarrassed, and my friends never knew!

I remember two teachers who made learning engaging even with difficult topics. They both were able to break the hard topics down to understandable segments to make it easier to learn the material. Also, I remember one had a few course competitions or course to another course competitions.

A teacher led me to Christ. She gave me opportunities to participate in a bible study that eventually opened my eyes and took me from light to darkness, from the power of satan to the power of God.
I received forgiveness and a place among those who are sanctified.
Acts 26:15-18

A teacher that had a positive influence on my life was my first grade teacher. Though she was not a believer the made the stories she read to us come to life. One example of this was a time when she read to the course the story of The Red Little Hen. She gave every student the ingredients to make corn bread. She made the story so real to us that I began to love reading. She had a passion for reading and succeeded in transferring that passion to her students.

I think the teacher who had the most positive influence on me was actually my cross-country coach. I didn’t go to a Christian school but he was always telling me that I could run faster and do better in an encouraging way. He believed in me and it boosted my confidence in many areas. He really invested in his team and would have spaghetti dinners before big races. Second would be my art teachers. They had a lot of encouraging things to say about my artwork and my ability to excel in both art and math. Third was an English teacher who would make us write papers over and over again until they were really good. I felt like she really wanted us to learn to be good writers and not just learn some material.
