If God would answer all my silly prayers it would be like the movie Bruce Almighty, where Jim Carrey answered every bodies prayer it turned out not to benefit every one. So if God would answer all my silly prayers I would still be dazed and confused that’s alll messed up.

Certainly not where God or I would want me to be.

At the time when i prayed those prayers, they didn’t seem silly to me at all. Yet, with the benefit of time and hindsight, had God given me the answers to those prayers, they would have cause me trouble or cost me a lot in some ways…

Some of the prayers I’ve begged and pleaded with the Lord about, had He answered them my way, would’ve cost me a lot. Emotionally, physically, financially.
Some of those prayers were not ‘silly’ to me at the time. I was so sure I was praying God’s will at the time.
Hind sight, those prayers were utterly ridiculous. Even would’ve been detrimental to my life.
Example: one time I thought I was so in love with this guy. I was so sure he was the one.
Year or two later I found out he was charged with domestic violence. He beat his wife and child.
    Whew.
So, sometimes unanswered prayer is actually the Lord protecting us.

CS Lewis’s statement leads me to thank God for the unanswered prayers in my life. If my will where to over rule the will off God, my life would be characterized by confusion and chaos.
