In harms way. Sometimes we’re tempted to answer some of the silly requests of our children and in hond sight it would not have been good for them.
-
Like a good parent, God knows what things are good for us and what things are bad, so if He answered every prayer, we might be harmed rather than helped.
-
Sometimes we want what we what when we want it and we don’t stop to think about the consequences of what we think we need or want.
-
Some say it is God’s mercy toward us that not all of our prayers were answered. I imagine it’s God’s wisdom.

It is another way of saying “be careful what you wish for.” Sometimes the result of an answered request has unintended, and even detrimental consequences.
