God is sovereign and can see the beginning from the end, He knows what’s best for us even if we cant see it

At the time, often we ask for things we think are best for us. Later, we often see how God knew all along what was best.

It’s like your children asking for ice cream at every meal. It could make them happy in the moment, but it probably stops right there.

I think it means that we ask for a lot of things that just aren´t that important when it comes to our lives with God.

I think it means we ask for a lot and not all of it are things that we need. If God answered them all we would have too much and we would likely take Him for granted.
