We often pray for selfish or frivolous things. This is silly. God promises to meet all of our needs and often grants us many of our wants. Yet, this is only possible if what we are asking Him for lines up with God’s will and His Word. Only if it pleases God to grant it to us. If we were left to our own devices, we would give ourselves everything we wanted, regardless if it is good for us or not(temporary pleasures). We would soon feel as though we have no need of God. In all honesty, we would be in a big fat mess! Totally lost and acting like spoiled brats, if we got all our “silly” prayers answered by God. He is a God of order not chaos! We would be on the road straight to hell. We cannot determine the path that is best for us, only God can.

Where would I be? I do not know, but it likely would not be where I am today! I remember when I was 17, I used to pray that I would have a baby! Thankfully He said, “Wait!” on that one!

You probably be somewhere stuck under tons of sin trying to pray your way out. In a way God is strong enough to protect us from ourselves. This is divine because I have heard many times over you cannot protect people from themselves. I can remember being young and wanting many things, most of them got me into trouble,

My prayers are sometimes based on my wants and it would not be profitable for me in the long run. God is not limited by time and sees the entirety of my life. He will always grant requests that are beneficial to me.
