We as a society call on God as a “cure all” for our needs, desires, and general wants at the spur of a moment, instead of thinking about what we really need, or for that fact what is good for us. I am sure, through the years, I have ask God for assistance or requested things, that if given, would not be at all what was needed. I thank Him everyday for only providing what is really needed to complete the work I am suppose to.

It is kind of funny to think back on some of my prayers. It was so easy to pray them, but in truth they were just nonsense. Trusting Gods will has led me to the life I have now, and those unanswered prayers have given me an understanding of life I would not have had otherwise.

We think we know what is best for us or what we want for our lives, but if we actually saw the bigger picture of what God was doing, we would be thankful for the prayers that went unanswered.

Given that most of my silly prayers are done out of emotion (usually frustration), I would rather not think about it. Of course, it is easy to look back now an see that if certain prayers were answered I would not be where I am at (and I am quite content where I am at right now). But in the moment we don’t see it like this. We cannot comprehend His plan and therefore often pray in the moment that is very small when compared to eternity.
