Seeking to live a better life, with our strategies to get there are done without the Spirit, and are hopeless because we can’t improve our mess. The hope of Christ is the Spirit given us to live out the lives He designed us to live, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

It’s about that hope that we have in relationship with the Heavenly Father

Jesus said, The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come to give life more abundantly.
If we believe what Jesus said we can only conclude that the abundant life isn’t something we can create or find like a lost sock, but rather it is life spent with an ever active relationship with the Father and the Son and with the Holy Spirit filling and guiding us so that we move in freedom within God’s will.

The SoulCare concept that Christianity is not about a better life; it is about a better hope helps us to realize that no matter how much we depend on our new strategies, nothing will work apart from the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We must come to a place of brokenness and repentance before God for trying to direct our own happiness. We must be willing to accept the Spirits plan for our lives and follow His strategy.
