Yes, I believe it is important for children to know Scripture because they are forming their views and believes. God’s word is the best tool to know what is right and what is wrong. And most of all, they must know that Jesus is our Savior.

Yes, I think it is important for young children to know scriptures. This will give them exposure to the scriptures and also help with reading as well.

Yes, scripture says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” The Bible is our instruction book. The earlier children learn how to use it, the better prepared for life they will be.

Yes, young children should learn scripture. Children are sponges for learning and have the ability to retain information more easily than adults. Raise a child in the way so the Lord and they will not depart from it. Children who memorize scripture as a child become adults to draw upon this past knowledge quicker and easier when necessary. It is giving the child a foundation to support them as they mature as Christians.

Of course, it is important for our children of any age to know Scripture. Earlier is better. The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” And, as Dr. Ellen Black mentioned, it is easier to memorize at a young age. However, we should never stop learning. I believe the memory is like a muscle and improves with exercise or use.
Also, our children and students need to become comfortable talking with God and the Scripture reinforces His guidelines and will for our lives. Praying, studying, and turning to God through His word are habits that we should develop as soon as possible.
