It is essential for children to know Scripture. I often remind my students that it is God’s Word spoken directly to them—a love letter that reveals His deep affection and a guide to help them through life. Understanding Scripture enables children to grasp the depth of God’s love and provides them with wisdom to navigate life’s challenges.

Yes, it is important that children grow to know the scripture because the scripture is God’s word to us and is very much alive to be able to guide us through life. Our thought, conversation, and conducts are to be patterned according to the scripture. So, when young children learn the scripture, it has a way of finding a place in their heart and pops up when they need it as they grow in life.

Yes. Scripture is applicable at any age and stage of life. It is easier to memorize at a younger age than in adulthood. Having God’s Word hidden in your heart for an extended period is beneficial. As David said in the Psalms, “I have hidden your word in my heart so I might not sin against you.” (Psalm 119:11)

Yes. Knowing the scripture helps you navigate this life. Knowing it earlier in life will build a foundation in you that will help you know what is expected and obtainable in this world. The scripture will teach you how to handle the challenges of this world.
