When I taught 1st grade students, the school I worked at uses Abeka curriculum so I have to teach Bible lesson everyday. At first, I was unsure of how to make them memorize the long verses however to my surprise, in just less than 1 week’s time, students were able to recall the whole passage easily. A few of them were even able to recite it and remind their friends when they did something wrong. It helps them to determine right from wrong and helps them to live and walk in God’s way.

It is so easy to memorize as a child and you seem to remember it always.

It is vitally important for young children and older children to know Scripture! We have become a Biblically illiterate society and I believe that is a huge part of the problem. These students will NEVER live by truth that they do not know.

Yes, it is extremely important for young children to know Scripture so they can live it every day and to love one another as God intends us to do.

Positive. planting the seed of the scripture in kids is very important because they will be more knowledgeable as they grow up.
