I know that too often I try to be a Lone Ranger Christian and fail or struggle more than I should through the trials of life. Yes, our relationship with God is one on one but He never called us to be spiritual hermits.

Now as I am older, I will savor anyone God puts into my life as a mentor because they have likely been where I want to go, they can see what I cannot, understand maybe what I do not, and can explain (usually with love and commitment) different things that I may struggle to know.

Yes, there are godly mentors in my life, that I can always bounced with to keep me on track.
We need both, as we are yet complete in Christ, and are still living in that tension of flesh and spirit. They keep us alert to our blindness and deafness. They reflect to us what is God-honoring and what is walking in faith.
