It is always God, and not us, we have to rely on God and the power of Christ. Knowing that we are out of league we can’t really fix anything but, we are to lead them to Christ. Reminds of Jesus the Ultimate physician. It’s exciting to see and learn, that we are out of our league with our hopes and opinions of others and their situations. Our task is to lead them to the Ultimate Physician. Thru passion, wisdom. Truly our visions for them should be Chriat centered and let Christ do the rest. Supporting in areas of Knowing Christ. To assist in deepening their experience with God. I have these bracelets that say small problem, Big God.

I knew I didn’t want to go into a conversation with someone thinking I wanted or needed to fix them, but watching the lecture, I felt the pressure leave me that it isn’t my job to change someone. Letting the Holy Spirit work through me will minister to them more than anything I could say. My approach will be to pray that my words will be Jesus’s words and that his words will be mine. And the Holy Spirit will minister to them through me.

I already have peace knowing that I do not have the ability to help someone change. It is only the power of the Holy Spirit that can help the person I am counseling. I love that this approach is focused on my relationship with God and how it could arouse an appetite for God in the person I want to help. It takes the focus off of me and my abilities and puts it on God and what He wants to do.
