It makes it clear that it is just as important that you realize the significance of God’s hand in your work as you know the techniques and tools you are using. If you are relying on your own competence, you won’t be able to make it, as with all things, so knowing and believing this will redirect me back to the one true source of strength as I work through this course.

Because you then turn toward wanting how God would want to focus your care on thinking outside the box. An appetite toward God (within how you care for the souls of others/and also provoking a consuming experience of God). You can be redirected to care for the soul of others; how God cares for our souls.

“We all lack complete understanding, which can lead to falsehood. By acknowledging our own weaknesses and recognizing the need to be guided by the spirit, we can avoid projecting our own shortcomings onto others.”

Many times I feel inadequate to try to help people by my own devises, but this reminds me Romans 1:16
I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power for the salvation of everyone who believes. Let the Spirit do the work.

It changes the way I approach soul care by releasing me from the fear that I have to fix anything. It is not in my power to fix anything, it is in a deepening of the person’s desire/appetite for God that change will begin to happen. It is when they can see that their desire to want more of God overrides their desires for other things, that people will be internally changed to look more like Christ.
