Christian Learning Center Forums Discussion Forum Dr. Vernon Grounds said, “I might find it difficult to believe in the resurrection of just an ordinary individual. But Jesus wasn’t an ordinary individual…. Everything about Jesus was supernatural, and consequently I find the resurrection to fit right into that picture: Supernatural exit from time/space, the resurrection, and then the ascension. So the resurrection fits beautifully into that whole mosaic. If you were to leave that aside, the jigsaw puzzle would be missing a very significant piece. But it all fits together into a coherent pattern of supernaturalism.” Vernon Grounds uses the illustrations of a mosaic and jigsaw puzzle. How do these metaphors illustrate the miraculous ministry of Jesus Christ ending in His resurrection? Explain your answer.

Everything Jesus did was miraculous! The signs and wonders He performed – healing the sick, raising the dead to life; then His death and resurrection. It was all foretold and played out beautifully. While some might try to explain away His miracles, you can’t explain away seeing someone die and then see them alive and well three days later! The resurrection is critical to showing us beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God.

He recorded scriptures so he would be accepted and respected. Without proof, belief would be nearly impossible.

There have been many supposed prophets and many pretty good preachers but without the supernatural Christ couldn’t be God.

Jesus gave himself freely to be the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world. It took the place of the sacrifices of animals in the Old Testament. He died and rose again and was seen by his disciples and others for 40 days, and I believe that the number of 40 days is parallel with the rain of Noah’s 40 days and nights it rained. Being God in the flesh, he had the power to ascend into heaven.
