Throughout the Old Testament we read about prophecies of the Messiah that is to come, and He is described and events are explained. Then, in the New Testament we begin to read about the fulfillment of those prophecies through the birth and life of Jesus Christ. In the OT, the death and resurrection of Jesus was foretold in a “resurrection-sized” piece of the mosaic or puzzle. It completes the picture.
