I agree with this statement, because God has proven time and time again, that no matter what I am experiencing, if I seek Him, He will be found. He may not answer in the time that I expect Him to, but He provides in the end.

I agree, wrestling with God helps us to be genuine and real with Him. He does not just want us at our best, but wants us to bring our struggles and worst before Him too. We learn how God truly works and cares in the midst of our struggles when we bring them to Him. This plants trust and grows fruit of intimacy and thankfulness in God.

According to Dr. Welch, the biblical art of lament is: (1) to direct our complaint to God; (2) to describe our suffering; (3) to depend on God to come to our aid; (4) to dwell on God’s faithfulness and goodness.

In this light, to lament to God is to express that you still care about your relationship with God, even if you feel angry or disappointed with God right now. By releasing your true emotions to God this way, you begin the path where God works in you to heal your emotions, and even to determine to dwell on God’s goodness. In this sense, allowing yourself to lament actually restores and builds up your intimacy with God ultimately. Since God is your ultimate hope in a hopeless situation, this eventually gives you resilience and victory over the situation.

I agree with this as I think authentic relationship comes from freedom to be who we are and express where we are at in any and all circumstances. God gives us that freedom and provides so much grace and mercy for us. How could we not grow closer to Him as we experience that in our relationship with Him?
