I believe it is because it gives us the opportunity to speak what God already knows and at the same time listen to His wisdom.

I agree with the benefits of lament. God is our only real help in times of trouble and our only true source of comfort. I have been the main wage earner in my family for many years and I recently had to retire unexpectedly. This caused a lot of stress on everyone who relied on me. I felt tremendous anxiety when I lost my job. I felt like I had no one to talk to or rely on. I had to turn to God. Things are still very difficult but I know I am not alone.

I agree that lament is a proof of the relationship between me and God, and it’s a pathway to intimacy with God. Like every crises in our lives we tend to go to the support system that we are comfortable or that makes us feel secure. The person who drinks will turn to alcohol. Those who put their trust in God will turn to Him or from Him. The one who has a strong relationship with God will use the skill of lamenting. This will eventually bring one closer has they seek their answers.

I agree with lamenting and developing a relationship with God. From a personal experience, I have been able to cry to God, which He states in His Word, to bring our cares and burdens to Him. Our relationship develops, it strengthens and we become a stronger person because of this relationship. Whether you are a new Christian or a believing Christian with many years behind you, as we focus on God, asking to help meet our needs, we are strengthened and our bond grows, but we must be receptive.

Truly having an up close and personal relationship with the heavenly father is detrimental to who I am as His child. Being able to talk with Him and more importantly having God communicate with me. I need God to live out my life in service to Him.
