Lament is defined as “a passionate expression of grief or sorrow”. In having an open and honest communication with the Lord allows you to grow closer and develop an intimacy and transparency with Him like you can have with no other. In James 4:8 we are encouraged to “draw nigh unto Go, and He will draw nigh to you…” It is a beautiful and peaceful place to be – in the presence of God.

It’s a good way to tell The Lord how one feels about a loss. He wants us to be human as he was. We must remember Christ also agonized during his death. He wants us to tell Him how we truly feel, and not to hold anything back.

I agree with Dr. Welch. I firmly believe that “as thy days be so shall thy strength be.” When your at your lowest and weakest, that’s when God’s with you hardest, taking care of you while you’re weak or lowly.

When we lament, we are being completely open and honest. that strengthens our relationship with God.
