I agree with the statement that lament is proof of a relationship with God. This means that even if we are angry at God and don’t understand why he allowed this to happen to us, this is a way of connecting with God. The conversation may be one-sided for a time if we need to do this, but when we are ready, God will connect with us and reveal the attitudes we need to develop to cope with our situation and draw closer to Him.

Me lamenting shows I’m closer to God maybe there is something he wants me to so me worried/grieve to him is a means for me to communicate with him because he will always have a way to calm me down to understand what’s going on around me. So when I notice his presence I should be able to tell some is going on around me

Lament is defined as “a passionate expression of grief or sorrow”. In having an open and honest communication with the Lord allows you to grow closer and develop an intimacy and transparency with Him like you can have with no other. In James 4:8 we are encouraged to “draw nigh unto Go, and He will draw nigh to you…” It is a beautiful and peaceful place to be – in the presence of God.

If I’m reading this right its because when pray or get close to God, God gets close to us

It’s a good way to tell The Lord how one feels about a loss. He wants us to be human as he was. We must remember Christ also agonized during his death. He wants us to tell Him how we truly feel, and not to hold anything back.
