I believe it means that if I learn to trust God, then I will be able to cling to Him in times of grieving. If I do not have trust to begin with, then I will pull away. On the other hand, if I trust God and know that He is with me in challenges of life, I will continue to get to know Him better and I will feel confident to share my laments in times of grief.

I agree that to lament is a pathway to intimacy/relationship with God. Suffering and affliction can bring us closer to God as we mourn, grieve and express sorrow while waiting and trusting on Him in hope of restoration.

I think what t means to me is that to the extent that God is my friend and father I will run to him with my fears pain and need for comfort. I think I agree with him. In so doing I will get closer to him.

Lament for me is not complaining to God but sharing my pain and suffering to Him. I know no one can understand me like God does, not even my husband and children who love me. I feel relieved when I cry before God. He takes my worries and replace it with peace.

I have suffered with grieving my childhood because of sexual abuse. God has held me in the midst of intergrating trauma. I have received so many miracles!!!
