At its most basic level, bible study, prayer and fellowship are ways truth are communicated and relationship built. Bible study tells us about God, who He is and what He has done. In our small groups, church community, bible study etc we share with each other not only our thoughts, our perspective but also our lives. hopefully through the lens of scriptures. With prayer, we seek to talk to God, get to know Him and let ourselves be known. All these serves to communicate spiritual truth.

Bible study helps me to know God – how to do life before Him, which includes developing a relationship with Him. Fellowship allows me to learn from more mature believers – to grow in my relationship with God and others. Prayer is essential for knowing God. That is the time when I not only speak to Him, but I learn to hear His Voice. It also allows me to pray for others. Each of these deal with communication – communication with God and communication with fellow believers.

Bible study, fellowship and prayer can be done individually or in community. So there are multiple ways these 3 areas are a different form of spiritual communication based on if they are done alone or in some form of community. If done alone it is communication between the individual and God which deepens that personal relationship with God. If done in a community the communication is with others and God which leads to deeper relationships with both.

The Christian faith is a multifaceted practice which come together with the aim of drawing oneself closer to God and on our journey to Him. The Bible is God speaking to us and revealing who He is to us. Fellowships is interacting with other believers to challenge, educate and share our faith with each other. And prayer is our way to communicate back to God whether it is through songs of worship, a sleepy ‘good morning Lord, thank you for bringing me safely through this night’ or through group prayer with others. We have a relationship with God which is unique and personalised but also as a group we can partake in this unique relationship with others.
