God speaks to us through Bible study. He teaches us the truth about Himself, rebukes our wrong doings, corrects our faults and instructs us to live righteous life that will make us perfect in the direction of all good works.
Fellowshipping with a community, gives us an opportunity to learn, receive counselling and encourage ourselves from practical experiences of matured Christians to grow in faith.
Prayer is the means through which we pour our heart out to God, trusting and resting on His faithfulness and God speaking back to us. This interaction promotes personal relationship with God.
The above explanations are called different forms of Spiritual communication because they are the basic essentials for Spiritual growth. -
They are three different ways of learning more about God. I liked the diagram in the lecture that showed Bible study and prayer as a sort of two way communication with God. Prayer is our talking to God, and the Bible study is a key way for God to communicate to us. Fellowship with other believers helps us gain a better understanding of the Bible. Sometimes we read a passage and don’t understand it well. But other believers might have a perspective that can help us.

Bible study, fellowship and prayer are considered forms of spiritual communication because each of these are important factors to be used in our spiritual life to help us grow and also be productive in our spiritual life as Christians as well as in our relationship with God. It is essential for us to spend time in scripture not only as a way for God to talk to us, but it is how we learn of Him. It also enables us to be able to navigate our spiritual journey in relationship with God.
Prayer is our key to communicating with God and to learn to talk with Him and also hear God when He talks to us (John 10:27-28). In addition, when we talk to other believers, we want to communicate with fellowship as well as learning, growing gracefully and feasting from God’s word. This helps us in our development of a spiritual life. As we grow in our relationship with God, we should also grow in our relationship with those who love the Lord and serve Him. This is wonderful because it lets us know we are not alone but we are one in the body of Christ. Being in fellowship with other believers of faith exemplifies we are in line with God’s word. when we live a life for Christ we are also to let our lights shine so those who do not know Christ can be drawn to want to know Him when through our spiritual experiences we reflect a life that shows that we exemplify Christ. -
Bible study is essential to the Christian faith, the Apostle Paul wrote to young Timothy and made cleared the point of of studying in 2 Tim 2:15, bible study helps us to grow and equips us to face the battles ahead, even Jesus when he was tempted used the word to overcome the schemes of the devil, making bible study very important in our growth.
Fellowship opens our hearts to other believers, Jesus came as one who serves, throughout his earthly life he had fellowship with his disciples and we see the disciples doing the same thing. Hebrews 10:25 speaks of not forsaking the assembling together, because this enables us to encourage each other in the faith. In Acts 2:42 devoted themselves to teaching and fellowship, it was more than just small talk it was a time to be united as a body of believers. Jesus himself lived in constant fellowship with the Father, in John 17:21 Jesus prays that we will be one just as He and the Father are one, this oneness can only be achieved through fellowship.
Prayer is our way of communicating with God through means of adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication. The wonderful thing about prayer is that God meets us where we are, He comes alongside us to lead us into a deeper more real relationship with Him not motivated by guilt but driven by His abundant love (Hebrews 4:16).

Bible study is spiritual communication in that it is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. It definitive, we can hold it in our hands, read and re-read, study and meditate on what is presented to us. It is unchanging and provides a source of authority for us upon which rests the foundation of our faith. Pursuing study in the Word allows us to take more of the Word into our hearts and minds and transform us more into the image of Christ, because it gives us the life of Christ. Study takes us beyond just a “surface” understanding and into deeper understanding, meaning and purpose of the Word.
Fellowship is a form of combined worship and encouragement that supports spiritual development. We were never intended to live the Christian life alone, in isolation. We can spur one another to good works, rejoice together in victories and successes, pick one another up in defeat and discouragement. We learn from each other, your insight into a Bible passage may be just what I need to hear. We are called to the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, which is common to all believers. Prayer is also vital in spiritual development. Because we are reconciled to God, “in Christ” as Paul would say in the beginning of Ephesians, we would want to be in open communication with Him. The image of Christ in relation to the Church is that of marriage, Christ is the bridegroom, the church the bride. Imagine a marriage where there is no communication between husband and wife. The relationship quickly becomes stale, the distance between partners becomes greater until the marriage is severely strained, even to the point of dissolution. This is why we must pray to develop spiritually. If we are truly in love with Christ, then how can we ignore communing with Him in prayer? And prayer is not just us doing on the talking. It involves listening, listening to what God can speak to you. If you will do that, your spiritual life will take off like a rocket.
