Deleted User09/08/2024 at 14:51Change cannot occur in a state of complacency and satisfaction. Unless there is a disturbance within in the soul of a xtian that brings about suffering due to the tension between what their soul longs to be and who they really are. Dr Crabb describes this suffering as distinct from other difficult life circumstances because this only can cause change and growth.

Deleted User07/29/2024 at 13:10Because without an awareness of the depravity within each of us, and our acknowledgement of that depravity, we have not fully surrendered to Christ and that Holy Tension, meant to draw us, will be little more than an anxiety that “I can take care of with a pill, or drink, or some other deversion,” when God is trying to use this tension to “turn our eyes upon Jesus” to see the full abundant life He had planned for us.

Deleted User02/28/2024 at 18:59If we do not experience suffering we don’t truly realize our need for a savior or what the Savior suffered for us I’m order to save us and so that He could become our Great High Priest. It brings greater understanding and intimacy with our Lord.

Deleted User02/02/2024 at 17:13Now that I think back, some of the most trying times in my life, drew me closer to God and I yearned for a deeper relationship with Him. In essence those times brought me closer to God.
