Dr. Black is illustrating that the Bible should be our foundation in all that we are teaching. We should be reading God’s word and incorporating it into our daily lessons as teachers.

Dr. Blacks visual illustration means that the Bible should always be the priority in our lessons. I believe that if we start course with the word of God, then we are doing what the Lord called us to do.

I love this analogy. A hamburger isn’t complete without the top bun, ingredients in the middle, and the the bottom bun. If you remove either bun, you now have an “open face” sandwich. With an “open face” sandwich, your ingredients can slip off the bun and therefore, not give you the ultimate flavor that is desired when both buns and ingredients remain intact.
The Bible helps to hold together our curriculum, and materials. It helps to complete the overall process of educating our students, Biblically. The Bible should be our first and last resource in education.

That everything we do as educators should still be surrounded by the Bible.

That the Bible is the most important textbook in our course.
