Christ sacrificed His life for me thstI may have access to a life in Him and free from sin because of His finished work on the cross.

I am free the day I received salvation. I am forgiven from my sins. my life has changed drastically and things I thought were good we’re not. He gave me a new heart and renewed my mind. I am free from my past and free to walk with Christ. I am forever. Thankful.

Paul says “it is for freedom that Chrsit has set us free” – That Freedom was provided through Christ’s work on The Cross and negatively is a freedom from enslavement to the world system. That Freedom pertains to both legalism & licence in that it frees us from participation in either one of them. Positively it is a freedom to live a holy & righteous life empowered by the Holy Spirit. Such a life is characterised by the fruit of The Spirit.

Through this first lesson, I am beginning to understand that I have choices. I can choose to stay in my carnal state and/ or depend on myself to do good works. I am relived to learn of a better option. I am excited to learn that forgiveness opens the door to a life of freedom. I am now free to follow Christ’s example on how to live.

The Truth shall make us free and if we live in the Truth we are free indeed. Jesus is the truth. I had to come to a place in my own walk with Christ that I know I have to die to myself every day, all day. That’s hard for me as I know it is for pretty much everyone because “we want what WE want”. The freedom is there – all the time, in every situation, but we must accept it by putting Christ on the throne of our hearts and not ourselves.
