A debrief of sorts that helps them further analyze the concepts they just heard. I think its always important to take a minute to go back and process the information you have been given so you can better apply it to your own worldview.

It is a tool that the Christian educator can use with their students to allow for the cementing of Biblical connections and integrations throughout the unit and even the course. Processing Activities contribute to the building of a coherent and a cohesive curriculum by tying together and solidifying Biblical integrations and truths that may be challenged or even avoided in a world setting. This tool can help not only students develop a better Christian perspective of the lessons and information presented during the course , but the teacher as well.

This isn’t just 10 question quizzes or tests, it also includes questions of discussion and personal application of the lesson. If our teaching is logical and unites together with the Word of God, we can help the students process both practical knowledge of the world and how God is a cornerstone of everything that we do.

In most cases, I use processing activities for subjects that are the foundation or building blocks to new topics we are learning. This contributes to a coherent curriculum because not only does it clarify that all of the students recall what they learn and have the ability to clarify that idea, but it also gives students confidence that they are- in fact- learning new things that build on each other.

Processing activities embed opportunities for students to engage mindfully with God’s word within the coherent curriculum. These activities are intentionally designed for students to debrief when obtaining biblical answers to big questions and examining biblical truths during their learning.
