Processing activities are when the student stops and thinks about what they are learning. Giving the student time to process all the material contributes to the student understanding the information being taught.

Processing activities are activities that allow students to reflect, review, and revisit information they have learned in the past. This contributes to a coherent curriculum by allowing for students to have a deeper understanding of a past concept once they have more information to use.

Processing activities are part of a spiraled curriculum. This sort of curriculum allows students time between encountering learning and reviewing it and revisiting it once again. This margin gives time for our brains to assimilate these ideas into what they currently know.
