Processing activities give the student an opportunity to digest what has been taught. These activities are critical to a coherent curriculum because it gives the student a chance to demonstrate their mastery or even their struggles with the curriculum being taught.

Processing activities allow students space to sit with and revisit topics they might not fully grasp. They give space to fill in gaps and allow for discussion.

Time for review and reflection so that students can realize how their worldview influences their thought processes. In Literature, the understanding of the theme is often influenced by the life experience that the reader brings to the reading of the work.

Students are taught a lesson and given a chance to reflect and share their thoughts on the specific topic.

It is where you teach a concept, have the kids write down their thoughts on it, gather those to keep, then in a few months circle back around to it and let the kids see if and how their thoughts have changed.
