Explain, in your own words, why and how Christians should embrace science.

Christians should embrace science. Science can be defined as a study of the world based on observation. The Scriptures speak on the world and its creation. Science and God are connected. Science helps show how our God is not a God of chaos but an intelligent designer. Additionally, when our students leave our classroom and enter universities or scientific conversations, we want to ensure they are fully prepared. If students haven’t been taught in a Christian school how Christians can and should embrace science, what a disservice we have done.

It is important for Christians to embrace science because it is how humans can understand God’s creation. Scripture continually points back to Creator God and has many of the answers that the science community seeks. As Christians, we should study the advancements that science has made and how we can use scripture to support creation. We should also have knowledge in other theories so that we are prepared to defend creation with sound reasoning.

I like Dr. Black’s definition that “science is man’s best understanding of God’s creation”. We need to embrace science, because the advancements in science relate to God and the Bible. Everything in science can be explained through careful study of the Bible. We need to stress this to our students (not only so that they can see how science can reveal answers about God’s creation), but also to make our students aware that some scientists and schools of thought take God out of science. Our students need to be able to defend their Christian beliefs and be able to explain them when faced with society’s view of creation.

Christians should embrace science because it proves that what scripture stated thousands are years ago, is true. What scientist are just now discovering, has been written in the Bible and will continue to prove it to be infallible.

If we can’t answer the science questions of our children, someone will answer those questions with non-Christian answers. We have to have the answers from a biblical perspective to be able to help children learn truth.
