Science, by definition is, “the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.” Humans from birth are learning about the world around them through observation and experimentation. As we are taught and develop specific skill sets and seek answers to specific questions, science, and those who have studied science previously, help us to gain a greater understanding of the world. As believers, we look at the wonder of creation, see it points to a Creator, and seek to understand it further through observation and experimentation in many realms of learning beyond science. While humans cannot fully understand the creation, we can seek to make sense of it using scientific principles and logical thought processes to reach conclusions. If we dismiss science, we dismiss the opportunity to learn and better understand the world God created and ostracize ourselves from those doing scientific research.

Science allows us to study and learn about the world that God created. Science is not anti-God but rather a window into the complexity of his nature and the beauty of His creation.

Science allows us to study the world around us and to further explore and learn about God’s creation. It also gives us the opportunity to discuss fact vs theories.

We should embrace science as a way to point the intricacies of organisms, space, biology, geology for example as a purposeful design. This purposeful design didn’t just suddenly appear. Something that is purposeful is intentional and the only answer points back to God. There are many discoveries being made every day from fossil findings to the many groanings of the earth as we near the end times. The Bible needs to be the basis for the truths that can be revealed in science. We should acknowledge these discoveries and integrate them into our teaching all through the lens of the Word of God.
