Explain, in your own words, why and how Christians should embrace science.

Christians should embrace science because it helps us understand the world God made and how it works. It will never be a perfect understanding, but it is a process that allows us to search for truth.

Science is not antithetical to God or the Christian faith. Science is the discovery of knowledge about the universe. If nothing else, it reveals to us things about God as the creator of all things.

Science points back to creation. Faith is believing the unseen, yet God – by His grace – gives us proof of his existence. The study of Science is one of those ways!

Science is man’s attempt to understand the world and the universe around him. It continues to change as new information is discovered. Most of the fathers of modern science were Christians, like Galileo, Newton and Copernicus, so they started with a worldview that included God and expected laws of nature to be in place. They looked for patterns and the expected outcome of such laws like the law of gravity. Many scientists today are Christians as well, such as those running Answers in Genesis and the Creation Science Museum. They feature the latest discoveries of science like DNA research and astronomy studies that are further confirming the Biblical account of creation. We do not need to be afraid of true science as all truth is God’s truth and all true science will ultimately confirm the truth of God’s Word. It is when people do NOT do the full study and make improper, ungodly assumptions about the world do they develop the incorrect theories about origins of the world, people and the universe.

Science is the study of how God wove his world together and so the more we study science the more we can learn about God and his wisdom, or natural revelation. Science and faith go hand in hand.
