It is important to be genuine in friendship because people can sense it, and because without genuine care you have no right to meddle in someone’s affairs.
It is important to be respectful because to that person his religion makes perfect sense. Moreover, they are probably very moral citizens due to their religion. They at least deserve the respect for that.
It is important to be humble because we often don’t know a lot about the doctrines and diversity in their religion. Worse still, we might have misunderstood what the religion teaches.
It is important to be fair because, in whatever aspect we choose to criticise their religion or religious leaders or religious history, we probably have similar failures in our own religion.
It is important to be discerning because some of the differences between the religions are fundamental, not just peripheral. It is the truth that will set us free, not what we like to hear that sets us free.
It is important to be discreet because you can never win a soul by winning an argument. Try not to argue, but to discuss the truth in love.
In summary, all these 6 attributes together display your winsome character – which is the fruit of the Spirit in you. -
We need to be loving to others even if they don’t share our beliefs, customs, traditions or practices.

These 6 principles form the basis for healthy relational doalogue, and in many respects capture the essence of loving ones neighbour.

All six principles are important, because they are the the characteristics of Paul’s description of Love in 1 Corinthians 13 and the only way to not sound like clanging, discordant noise. Listening in Love. Living in Love. Yielding to the Spirit to bring to remembrance all He has said — and to DO them.

These principles are like building blocks that will not make building complete if one is missing. If we all live by these principles, we will have a better world no matter the religious diversity and cultural differences
