Each author was an individual and saw different things in Jesus. Also, each author was writing to a different audience so therefore stressed different things that appealed to their audience.

The writers wrote based on their gifts and callings to a particular audience through the Holy Spirit.

According to God’s purpose, to show God’s people different facets of Jesus’ earthly ministry for their learning and strengthening. Humanly, because they acquired their knowledge of Jesus through different sources and points of view.

Matthew was very focus on connecting the Old Testament and wrote to a Jewish audience. Luke the physician had special emphasis on Jesus’ healing abilities. Mark is the shortest most succinct Gospel. John writes very differently, more philosophical and also like Matthew connects a lot of Torah texts.
