Deleted User06/10/2024 at 14:35We should embrace apologetics because it seems to be in direct correlation in 1 Pet with setting apart Christ as Lord in our hearts. If we have made the decision that Christ is Lord then we must also believe that all he said and taught is true. If that is the case then we need to be able to share that truth in a manner that is both logical and persuasive.

Deleted User05/25/2024 at 23:14Embracing apologetics in our faith journey allows us to give a reason for our hope with gentleness and respect, ultimately leading to a deeper understanding of our own beliefs and fostering meaningful dialogue with others. These dialogues can bring the hope we have to others, so they may come to know Christ.

As mentioned in 1 Peter 3:15-16, there are several things that he charges us to do to prepare for these times: “in our hearts, regard Christ the Lord as holy”, “give a defense to anyone who asks you”, “do this with gentleness and reverence, keeping a clear conscience”.

Deleted User05/15/2024 at 19:41We have been commissioned by Christ to do the work of ministry, and Peter is telling us to not react to persecution with a fight, but in the light of our Lord and Savior. We need to set aside a place of honor for our Lord in our hearts in order to be prepared to present why we believe even in the face of adversity. This is to be our witness, and our story. Why do we believe, well let me tell you a story of hope, love, and grace.

Deleted User03/27/2024 at 11:14In 1 Peter 3:15-16 I like that Peter when he is talking to the church he is telling them to not be afraid of confrontation but to “revere Christ as Lord.” He goes on to say that we need to be prepared to give answers but to do so with gentleness and respect with a clear conscience.
