Given the reality that troublesome passions will be present with us always, on what do you base your hope that you can become a powerful provider of SoulCare for others?

My hope is only founded in Christ and the power of His Holy Spirit, to lead and guide me, within myself, as as I walk with others. Knowing that the good in me, Christ’s Holy Spirit, can touch the good in them and release it to then enable that person to face what they need to, knowing that God is all sufficient and is working in them, causing them to have a deeper desire for God Himself, and that it really does not have anything to do with me, it is Christ in me!

I was singing a hymn yesterday and this phrase from it came to mind as I set about to answer this question: “To this I hold, my only hope is Jesus…” Indeed my only hope of touching anyone’s life is through Christ and the Holy Spirit working in and through me and in and through the other person in His sovereign grace. I can’t do any of this or remember any of this unless the Holy Spirit is my teacher and guide and enabler.

My hope in providing SoulCare for others can only come by dependence upon the Holy Spirit. He will guide me in what to say and how to say it.

The Holy Spirit guidance and direction. Having a vision, listening closely and expectantly, asking questions and thinking reflectively.

My hope is in Christ Jesus and allowing the Holy Spirit to take the reigns whenever presented with the opportunity to provide SoulCare.
