Becoming a powerful SoulCare provider for others I feel is something I am being God led towards with a heart for really wanting to use my talents and background with the help of the Holy Spirit. I believe, I am being called to this purpose and really do feel inadequate to just be a secular psychologist without allowing God to work inside me, as I have seen in my journey, so that He can use me to speak and work inside others.

Our hope in providing SoulCare is to know how broken and flawed and inadequate we are but how powerful and sufficient God is in meeting both the counselor and counselee in both their respective ‘needs’.

I actually don’t have much hope that I will help others- which I suppose is the point. I DO have hope that Jesus is able to help any and everyone- whether it’s complete healing from emotional/physical issues or walking with you through it. Soul Care specifically has pointed me in a direction of connecting with someone relationally being of most importance; even over “fixing” any issue.

I need to base to my hope of becoming a powerful provider of SoulCare on the power of the Holy Spirit within me as well as that same power within the person I am speaking with. The position of power here is, counterintuitively, working from the place of recognizing my brokenness and inadequacy. Where I am weak, God can show up with His mighty power to save, to heal, and to redeem. I must admit–this feels difficult and even a bit intimidating (scary might not be too strong of a word).

I base my hope that I can give soulcare to others effectively is that I have to rely on the spirit of God to help me with the troublesome passions that get in the way of soulcare to others
