Given the reality that troublesome passions will be present with us always, on what do you base your hope that you can become a powerful provider of SoulCare for others?

My hope is that I do not need to an expert. I do not need to every area of life and spirituality perfected in order to allow the spirit to use me to provide soul care to someone else. “The junk will always be there.” That phrase is impactful because it reminds me that I can’t ignore the junk or overcome the junk. But while recognizing its presence, I can learn to surrender it in the moment to listen to another person the way God wants me to.

Firstly, I need to choose to trust God in the encounter and put my hope for the person I am providing soul care and for my responses to this person, in his hands.
As the person shares, I need to have the attitude that feeling inadequate is okay. I need to make friends with it and get used to it so it becomes something that doesn’t cause me to doubt that the Holy Spirit can use me despite my inadequacies.

I would say my hope is in the Holy Spirit, as I depend on Him for the right counsel to give, and the right steps to take. I believe the Holy Spirit is my only Hope to becoming a powerful provider for Soulcare.

[Austin]

To move towards in becoming a powerful provider of SoulCare, I must rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit to help me move beyond the mess and inadequacy in my own life. I must allow the Spirit to guide me into moving into the life of someone else with the right questions, right passions, curiosities and vision to help them come to the place of seeing the issues in their lives as secondary to knowing God.

I’m not sure that I’ll ever be a powerful provider of SoulCare, but I do hope that by the poser of the Holy spirit, I can help the person seek God’s solution to their problem. I’m not sure that I’ll ever be able to help people have such a deep desire for God that all other problems will recede into the background, but perhaps I can walk with them as they seek to live with power in the midst of their roblems.
