Recognizing that God delegates responsibilities to us as under-shepherds reshapes my view of leadership. It highlights collaboration rather than isolation, reminding me that I’m part of a larger team.

I can empower individuals in my flock by identifying their strengths and encouraging them to take on leadership roles. This approach fosters a sense of ownership and shared purpose, enhancing our collective capability and creating a community where everyone feels valued.

I am recognizing that it is not best as the leader to lead in all areas, that it is my responsiblity to help train up other leaders in Christ. It will lighten my load and will also begin to help other leaders rise up.

God has given each of us a huge responsibility, to lead others. We are all ministers of the word of God. Yet we are also sheep. So we must remain humble as we are finite in understanding, always relying on God and his Holy Spirit to guide us. We were commissioned to make disciples. Not to see them give there lives to Christ, but just as importantly to build them from infancy into mature Christian’s. We do this by leading the way as we were shepherded in all areas of life. Whether it’s one or a multitude, God will bless us as we do his work.

The idea of God’s wisdom being involved in the leadership of my ministry and leadership puts things in perspective. I can see that everything I do as a leader is a direct result of Jesus as Lord of all, including my ministry. Knowing that the Lord is the one leading and doing the real work sets a person at ease in relationship with responsibility for the ultimate outcome.

I have no flock at this time, but I can empower those who are on my Revive Ohio evangelism team when we go out in the community. Also when I serve in my church, I can help give confidence to other believers who are newer to the church.

As a leader, I know that God is my shepherd and I have confidence in him that I must do his work. Secondly, since He is chief shepherd, I can not do his work alone. I have to work with others he called by delegating some assignment to others.
