As leader we too have to delegate the works with others as Jesus did. We are no Superman can do the ministry alone. We need each other.

The fact that we are chosen as helpers and under-shepherds of the Chief Shepherd is quite unusual. This is a real responsibility as well as a great privilege. So we must understand completely God’s commandments, statutes and His purposes. We are to lead with compassion, courage and commitment to the fold: both individually and as a flock, constantly observing and redirecting.

One of the main goals of leadership is to encourage, equip, and empower others to become leaders themselves. I see this is how God is encouraging, equipping, and empowering me, and I must in-turn do the same with members of the flock. As an under-shepherd, I must always look to the Chief Shepherd and recognize that I am also His sheep.

It helps me to see myself as having more responsibility for the newer converts that I meet. They need an understanding person to partner with that can help them stay on the straight and narrow as they begin their journey.
