God in His wisdom chooses to delegate many important things to us as representatives and under-shepherds of the Chief Shepherd. How does this fact change how you see yourself as a leader? Who in your flock can you empower to help you lead?

Knowing that I am a representative and under-shepherd of the Chief Shepherd, I see that my leadership is of importance and not just something that I have to do but is a priviledge and a response to my Shepherd. I can empower a few in the flock to help me lead by mentoring them and then delegating some of the roles to them.

I’m thakful that the Lord called me to lead a flock of people in the workplace, the community and in church. I lean on Him and my Mentors and Pastors for help and guidance.

This fact makes me realize the gravity of the leadership role I possess. God in His infinite wisdom sees fit to entrust me with important matters, which is humbling. It also helps me to see the pivotal and essential function I fill within the kingdom of God. Good Godly mentors can help me to be empowered and I can empower others with whom I serve to help me lead. I can encourage them to develop and flourish in their given roles within my scope of leadership.

God will show is the people He wants us to use. We need to see with his heart though, and not our eyes

The nature of sheep requires that they are provided with leadership; someone to show the way. As a leader / under-shepherd, my role is critical to the daily and overall well-being of the sheep. It is my responsibility as one called by God to lead, to lead as He has laid out in His word. I am to have the same compassion for the sheep as God has. I am to protect them from dangers seen and unseen. I am to lead in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
