I always approach the Psalms on a personal level. This is the first time I’ve heard you can approach the Psalm on a societal level. For good or evil. I will pray the Holy Spirit gives me, and all of us who take this study, discernment.

No, I have not thought about the difference in interpreting the poetry in the Bible based on the genres. I know that scholars struggle with how they interpret the word and the method they use in doing it.

The idea that literature that has been written with imagination must be read with imagination is a new way for me to think about reading the Psalms. I’m not sure that I have read them with imagination in the past, so I’m excited to have this new perspective!
