I had been stuck in the anger stage for so many years. I didn’t realize how angry I was until I went to tombstone to my grandmothers grave . I fell to my knees and began to weep. I was asking for forgiveness because I was so upset with her and months went by and maybe years later the weight was lifted off my shoulders, and I began to walk in freedom.

In order to move past my ‘stuck’ phase, I actually had to ask for God’s forgiveness. I was angry at God for taking my mother. I was angry with my friends and family for being happy while grieving. I realized that I needed to go to God in prayer and ask Him to be my support, but I needed to confess my sin of self-pity, confess my anger, and by asking for forgiveness, a weight was instantaneously lifted.

I’ve not been particularly stuck in any stage of grief per se. When my mother was very ill, before her passing, I tried to play God by wanting her to live longer. In reality, however, that was impossible, which shows me God was and is in control of every situation.

I have never been stuck in a stage, but I now understand that it’s normal not to experience every stage of grief.

I don’t think I have ever been stuck, but I now realize that it’s ok not to experience every stage.
