Have you ever been stuck in one of the stages of grief discussed in this lesson? If so, what was helpful in moving you past that stage?

In order to move past my ‘stuck’ phase, I actually had to ask for God’s forgiveness. I was angry at God for taking my mother. I was angry with my friends and family for being happy while grieving. I realized that I needed to go to God in prayer and ask Him to be my support, but I needed to confess my sin of self-pity, confess my anger, and by asking for forgiveness, a weight was instantaneously lifted.

I’ve not been particularly stuck in any stage of grief per se. When my mother was very ill, before her passing, I tried to play God by wanting her to live longer. In reality, however, that was impossible, which shows me God was and is in control of every situation.

I have never been stuck in a stage, but I now understand that it’s normal not to experience every stage of grief.

I don’t think I have ever been stuck, but I now realize that it’s ok not to experience every stage.

I was never stuck in denial or anything like that but as people in my life passed on I had more responsibility. I had to do more for my household and that was tough. Thanks be to God I had hope.
